A. Delivery: The Glue That Holds MeLCat Together [Powerpoint]
Staples and boxes and tape oh my! See hands-on demonstrations and participate in a discussion of MeL Delivery services. Come prepared with questions about workflow, policies, and procedures that impact all MeLCat participants.

B. Getting Things Into Your Users Hands: A Brainstorming Session
MeLCat uses a very traditional model for getting materials into a patron’s hands: materials get shipped to the patron’s library, the library then (directly or indirectly) contacts the patron, and the patron goes to the library to pick up the items. Join us for a brainstorming session devoted to exploring other approaches to getting things into your users’ hands. This will be a highly participatory session so be sure to bring your creative thinking cap!

C. Oh, but MeLCat, WHY? Policies and Procedures for MeLCat Processing [Powerpoint]
During the first few months of 2010, MeLCat staff have been holding 90 minute webinars to help current MeLCat participants understand why things are done the way they are. What have we learned from these sessions? We’ll discuss the most common questions that came up as well as how the sessions were structured, including a short review of MeLCat policies and Procedures. What is on the minds of people doing the day-to-day processing of MeLCat requests? Come to hear what knowledge they’ve given us.
